Right on the 12th day of January of the year 2023, the southeast icons where hosted to an award event by Clue Africa Magazine in collaaboration with solid 100.9 FM at the prestigious Nike lake resort Enugu. Therein Hon. Dr. DUBEM OGUEGBU a.k.a DUBBY GUSTAVO bagged an award as the HOSPITALITY AND ENTERTAINMENT ICON of the year 2023. He got observed together with other icons like Mr OKOH EMMANUEL ONYEKA ( Okwuruora ndigbo), SEMAN GLOBAL CEO AMB. Dr. MAXWELL STEPHEN, AMB. DR. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, Hon. Barre. Peter Mbah and others.
Hon. Dr. Dubem OGUEGBU is an accomplished Entrepreneur with over 11 years of experience in Hospitality and Nightlife business.
Dubby_Gustavo as fondly called always ensures the viability of shows for fun-seekers. He's so efficient at his job that he considers himself a "game changer." Dubby _Gustavo has the ability to take events and transform them into healthy and thriving ones. Because of his skills, Dubby can organise shows for high-level fun-seekers.
More than his role as a Socialite, he is also effective at persuading and influencing high-ranking individuals. His opinions are highly valued, people trust and respect his judgments. Dubby earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the then Anambra State University, Uli back in 2005. Aside his course, he developed a passionate interest in the Hospitality industry.
In particular, he focused on sustainable development and humanitarian services. After he graduated, he worked hard to gain employment role as a banker with Diamond Bank Plc. Then he spent some years working at the Federal Road Safety Corp.
Here, he attained the rank of a Route Commander widening his horizons too. Dubby also contributed to the development of his sector and unit.
For his most recent years, Dubby had successfully nourished his insatiable passion. He did this by organising shows and pulling out high profile entertainers.
Dubem's his two missions—to rewrite the narratives of Nightlife in Enugu and Southeast. He bagged a Doctorate Degree years back as a Doctor of Philosophy in Peace and Conflict Management. A Member of the chartered institute of Public Resources Management and Politics
He has continued to engage more with influential decision-makers and thought leaders in Hospitality business policy. He's open to challenges, conversations, and an exchange of ideas from the top players in the Hospitality industry.
His long-term goal is to become a National-level policy adviser. He wants to use his untiring commitment and drive to bring more dignity and autonomy to fun-seekers. He’s already working towards this course.
Baba D as also called had a lot of significant professional experiences as a Socialite. He organised several shows to help government and his company, Gustavo by Cubana evaluate operational requirements more accurately and improve the forecasting of Hospitality.
Moreover, as a Special Assistant to the Enugu State Governor on Entertainment, he co-organised the Enugu State Carnival in 2020 that gained international applaud.
