The Coalition For Peter Obi, a support group for the presidential candidate of the Labor Party (LP), has declared support for the Gubernatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, ahead of the march 11th guber elections.

The CPO, comprising over 200 support groups across the 13 Local Government areas of the State, is headed by Dr. John Agha, who famously led the obedients movement in the State.

According to a press statement by the deputy director of Media and publicity of the State PDP campaign council, Mr. Moses Idika said the group has equally agreed to stand by Odii and canvas for people to vote for him come Saturday’s elections.

“The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council Ebonyi State welcomes with open hands the declaration of support for our governorship candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii by the Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO) ahead of the March 11, 2023 governorship election in the State.

“Recall that the CPO comprising over 200 support groups across all the 13 local governments of Ebonyi State, met in Abakaliki where they declared their support for Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, and also agreed to go ahead and canvas votes for him and stand by him in the forthcoming governorship election in the state,” it stated.

Idika further noted that “In the last few weeks, several groups and prominent individuals including top government functionaries have been declaring their support for the PDP flag bearer”.

It recalls that the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on youth mobilization and drug control, Hon Mark Onu, the State Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Mr. Godwin Ugwu adopted Odii as their sole Gubernatorial Candidate before this moment.

He urged other well-meaning support groups in the State to identify with the PDP, and canvas for people to vote for the party’s Gubernatorial Candidate on election day.
