The shooting was caught on video by a concertgoer and uploaded to YouTube. In the footage, Sean Buka appears to be introducing a song to the crowd when the whole incident occured, dropping the microphone. A photographer who was onstage next to Sean Buka is seen attempting to help the fallen singer as fans, realizing what they just saw, scream in terror.
Ghana police have yet to release information on the shooting or potential suspects.
As Clue Africa noted, the shooting is the latest incident "to draw worldwide attention to violence in the music industry ahead of this year's World Cup.
A very vibrant Nigerian singer survived a gun shot and escaped death in ghana while performing onstage at a concert on Saturday, reports from witnesses in Accra say.
According to Clue Africa a Continental magazine, Ebuka better known as Sean Buka, was midway through his set at a show in Accra Ghana, late Saturday when he sustained a single bullet wound to the leg. Sean Buka was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was resositated by some medical practitioners.
“My tour manager has security meetings at shows now, and they go through a lot of things they didn’t go through a year ago,” said Nigerian Singer Sean Buka. I performed in South Africa three days before the incident in Ghana. “They go through in case of a shooting, where’s they exits, what about the safety of the fans? It’s a daily conversation.”
Another witness who preferred anominity said "Lying on the tour bus floor, He was in a daze. At first, he'd thought the popping sounds were coming from a blown speaker cabinet. But then he was whisked off stage in the middle of his set. Awash in fear and disbelief, he peered around a wall at a television, hoping for some news that could help him make sense of what was happening.
Indeed it was God that the whole thing now is a story to tell.
